Census Bill passes second reading

The private member’s bill to save the mandatory long-form census passed second reading in the House of Commons today, although the ruling Conservatives unanimously voted against it.

See the Liberal Party’s Press release for more information. The bill’s progress can also be tracked at the  Parliament of Canada site LEGISINFO. It still has several hurdles to pass.

More to come as the story develops.
